Goldie Of The Day. . .Part 1. [5/23]

First off let me just say, females do NOT sing like this anymore, lyrics DEFINETELY don't mean as much anymore. Bands don't play like this anymore, and music doesn't move me in this way anymore. This little doozie is from a lovely lady named Alicia Myers and the name of the song is "I Want To Thank You". It was released in 1981 off of her LP "I Fooled You This Time", and I must say, I never thought singing a whole song about keeping yourself until God sent you the right person would sound so fucking ILL! Thats basically what the song is about, and her runs are EFFORTLESS! But on the production note...WHERE DO I START?! First off when the song starts off you get the bass, kick drum with the light guitar riffs and a little piano that transcends into deep grand piano chords, the guitar riffs stop the kick stays with a "1, 2, 1, 2" rhythm on the drums with the funky ass mellow bass undertone. This is music at its finest, this dude made me an instrumental sampled off this song some time ago, maybe i'll post my ill spittage sometime soon huh?

For now, heres Alicia giving thanks to the most high, because she knows it couldn't have happened...."WITHOUT YOOOUUU" I love this type of shit, if you can't get with it then too bad for your sorry no taste having pitiful asses. Bet money your parents are going to say "What you know about that?"

Forewarning . . .

okay so anyone who knows me knows my soul is older than my bones. ask anyone, friends, family, teachers(shout out to Sister Jackson my favorite teacher ever hands down!) I just enjoy the things before my time more than I do of this day and age. For Instance, I have DirecTV and they have this one XM satellite radio channel called The Groove. Dedicated to the goldies of the 70s and the 80s. They have another channel right above it called The Strobe but most of the music is SERIOUS disco joints. I enjoy MOST of it but the rest of it is complete "Studio 54 coke nail, and LSD" music...which is great but I CANNOT go to sleep without having the TV on listening to the groove. So I'm starting something new on the blog which I said I was going to do from the get-go. I call it "Illies & Goldies" anything I hear thats Ill(89-98' era) or anything Golden(70-88' era)I'll post it to my enjoyment and hopefully to yours. I'm not taking request I'm just posting the joints that I thought was the most Golden, Illest peices of work an artist could make.

You know my taste in things is extravagant, have I steered you wrong yet?

This fan-made video made me fall in love with ONE particular song, Robocop. This video was made by a cat named Mykola Dosenko and obviously the motivation behind the vid was popular 1980s video games. I know just about every sprite in this video off hand(because im a dork and a retro video game junkie)but can YOU name all the games linked into this great version of robocop thats VERY slept on and I KNOW kanye is green with envy that he didnt think of it first for his OWN song! ENJOY!

I Knew Ghosts Lived In Chairs!

First off, I would like to apologize for the long and drawn out hiatus from my contribution to project niche. Where have I been? I don't know. What have I been doing? Making music, being lazy, playing xbox and other I don't knows..

Okay! On with the topic. So I was cyrfing(cyber-surfing) and I stopped by the wordpress of a friend of mine(shout out to Noche!) which in time, I know will become one of my favorite places to stop by to read, learn, and take fashion advice from.. It's called Intravenous Drip and will soon be one of my favorite places to check out!

Be that as it may, "The GHOST" collection doesn't consist of JUST chairs. They have stools also! These blew my mind when I saw them because when you look inside of them they REALLY look like preserved alien tentacle!(Noche's observation). You know what they actually remind me of actually? If anyone remembers the third version of the musical masterpiece that was "Flashing Lights" by KanYe West, these chairs would have been the icing on the cake for that video. Check The GHOST collection out Here. And once again thanks to the homie Noche for finding it first!

Bonus: The third Flashing Lights video. TELL ME THESE CHAIRS DON'T BELONG IN THIS VIDEO! (ooh & BTW this is my FAVORITE version. The video is basically a "whodunnit" setting, which reminds me of the game "Clue". Besides KanYe being a genius for even THINKING of the lyrics for this song, but also for the grim perception on early 1920s-30s fashion, the oliver twist kind of darkness in the murky shots & the cup runneth over clip going on to the shot of the maid is individually beautiful RESPECT ART!)
